Last night on NXT, Samoa Joe made his return to Full Sail Univeristy in his first appearance since defeating Finn Balor for the NXT Championship two weeks ago.

Joe came to assert his dominance, but he was interrupted by Eric Young, who has been rumored to be talking and negotiating a deal with WWE.

Unfortunately, EY went on to face Samoa Joe in the main event in a losing effort. Joe also made his point by choking Young out to end the show.

There is a lot of speculation about Eric Young’s status with the company after appearing out of the blue to face Samoa Joe and lose to him on his first night.

According to information from Wrestlinginc.com, Eric Young has not officially signed a deal with WWE to appear on NXT as a regular and that creates a lot of questions about his future for the brand after last night’s events.

Young doesn’t necessarily need a strict contract to continue making appearances on NXT, but it’s possible that his appearance last night was a one-off kind of thing or a test run to see how the NXT Universe would respond to him. Now, we just need to wait and see if Young will continue to be in NXT or if it was just a rare treat.

Do you think Eric Young is a good fit for NXT?
