The speculation for Goldberg to return to WWE this Sunday at “Clash of Champions” is at an apex. Before the WWE Universe goes into the PPV with high hopes and high expectations, let’s clear something up.
Rumors about Goldberg returning to WWE have been going on for the better part of a year now, but the recent news that he’ll coincidently be in Indianapolis on Sunday night has a lot of people thinking this is it.
According to a report from RingSideNews.com, he was scheduled to do a podcast appearance with Eric Bischoff on Sunday night. The fact that it was in Indianapolis was a coincidence.
It’s being reported that the deal between Bischoff and Goldberg fell through due to timing or other issues, so the former WCW World Champion will NOT be in Indianapolis tomorrow night.
That more or less puts the Goldberg returning to WWE at “Clash of Champions” rumors to bed for the time being, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be seeing him on WWE television in the future.
WWE 2K17 is being released next month, so an appearance from Goldberg on Raw or SmackDown isn’t that crazy if it’s for the purpose of promoting the video game. That’s not too much to ask, is it?
Do you think Goldberg will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame next year?
