Elias failed to capture the Intercontinental Championship from Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank, but he had a great match with Rollins. For months now, “The Drifter” has been red-hot on WWE television and is receiving a massive reaction from the WWE Universe.
However, his character has been heel ever since his debut on the main roster. It’s been working extremely well, but WWE officials might want to embrace the reaction he has been getting from the WWE Universe. According to a new report from Rajah, Elias could be turning babyface sooner rather than later. Ideally, it’ll happen before Summerslam.

The report believed that his feud with Seth Rollins would keep going after Money in the Bank, but WWE officials pulled a major swerve on Raw last night. Dolph Ziggler became the new IC Champion after beating Rollins. It seems Rollins will be feuding with Ziggler and Drew McIntyre moving forward, but where does that leave “WWE’s Bob Dylan?”
During last night’s Raw, Elias cut a general promo on Money in the Bank, Extreme Rules, and Brock Lesnar. On paper, it looks like WWE officials aren’t sure what to do either. If the plan was to turn him babyface, then a rivalry with Seth Rollins wasn’t going to help him get over that way. It seems WWE officials are waiting for the right feud to turn him.
More than anything, what Elias needs is bigger wins. Honestly, if WWE officials started to book him to win over more experienced workers, it would get him over. His work on the microphone and the WWE Universe would do most of the heavy lifting. The powers that be just need to embrace the change of character and he could reach the next level.
