Shortly after Cody Rhodes was granted his release by WWE, he released a “wish list” of wrestling stars that he wanted to wrestle after his non-compete clause expired with the company on August 19th.
It was revealed that Cody Rhodes will wrestle Kurt Angle on August 27th for Northeast Wrestling. At the time, that was the first match he announced outside of WWE, but Northeast Wrestling is looking to keep him busy.
According to a report from WrestlingNewsSource.com, Cody Rhodes will be in Pittsfield, Massachusetts the night before his match with Kurt Angle. He’ll be wrestling Mike “The Miracle” Bennett for the first-time ever.
What’s going to be equally interesting is Maria Kanellis will naturally be at ringside for him, so Rhodes will have Brandy Runnels, formerly Eden from WWE, in his corner for the fight.
In a little more than twenty-four hours, Rhodes will be able to cross off two big names from his “wish list” almost immediately after his non-compete clause with WWE expires in August.
The following tweet was posted by Northeast Wrestling to hype the new matchup between Bennett vs. Rhodes:

Do you think Rhodes is better off taking Indy gigs or signing with a promotion full-time?
