When CM Punk appeared on Colt Cabana’s “Art of Wrestling” podcast to give his side of the story regarding his WWE departure, he ruffled a lot of feathers. WWE doctor Chris Amann filed a lawsuit against Punk and Cabana and the suit is actually going to trial.

Unfortunately for Punk, this is horrible timing. At UFC 225, he’s set to have his second fight inside The Octagon against Michael Jackson. After his defeat against Mickey Gall, he’s trying to bounce back against Jackson and having a trial on his mind is a problem.

Dave Meltzer brought up the point on Wrestling Observer Radio that having the trial is obviously a mental distraction before a fight. However, the real problem is he could be stuck in court when he’s supposed to be training for The Octagon. It’s even more of a challenge to keep up with a training regiment when he needs to be in court for days.

CM Punk is going to have an interesting couple of weeks. There were a lot of doubts before his first UFC fight and that’s not expected to change heading into UFC 225. His next fight could make or break his UFC career so it’s pivotal for him to do better than he did against Gall. Time will tell if the “Best in the World” can transition to The Octagon.

Raw: CM Punk makes his shocking return to WWE

Depending on the outcome of his fight on June 9th and his trial, it’s still possible for him to make an appearance or even wrestle at “All In” this September. Rumors continue to circle him and wrestling fans remain hopeful. Win or lose, CM Punk will have his fans and his doubters. Whatever happens over the next two weeks, that will not change.

Are you supportive of CM Punk’s MMA career or should he return to wrestling?
