The WWE Universe was expecting some major stars to return to WWE for SmackDown 1000. All four members of Evolution, Edge, and The Undertaker made appearances to be a part of the celebration. Numerous legends were absent and the WWE Universe wants to know why. For instance, the fans want to know where Chris Jericho was on Tuesday.
According to a report from RingSideNews, WWE officials didn’t invite Y2J to appear on the show. Jericho made it clear on social media that he wasn’t invited, but it’s not clear why the powers that be excluded him. WWE officials may not have viewed Jericho as an important star to appear on the show. There could also be something else happening.

There have been plenty of rumors circulating recently about Chris Jericho signing with Impact Wrestling for a run. As the current IWGP Intercontinental Champion, WWE may have also been distancing itself from New Japan since the company is now expanding into the United States. Jericho’s cruise is also not featuring much of WWE own roster.
There doesn’t seem to be any heat between Y2J and WWE, but the two sides don’t seem to be updating each other on their plans. Chris Jericho has done an outstanding job as a heel in NJPW and Impact offers him some fresh new matches. He’s got enough going on in wrestling so a one-off appearance for SmackDown 1000 likely wasn’t his top priority.
The response for SmackDown 1000 has been mostly positive. No show is perfect, but it’s not clear how Chris Jericho could have dramatically changed the show. Sure, it would’ve been fun to see him back on WWE television. However, Chris Jericho has enough on his plate in wrestling right now. If the fans are that interested to see him they have options.
