On Raw, Paul Heyman convincing Brock Lesnar to step into the arena was the central storyline of the show. During the last segment, The Beast laid out Raw GM’s Kurt Angle and manhandled Heyman. The latter has created some buzz for a Heyman heel turn at Summerslam, but a lot of people are wondering why Lesnar attacked Angle to end Raw.
There’s been speculation about another big Angle vs. Lesnar match down the line since Brock is expected to be on a match by match WWE deal after Summerslam. On paper, it did a lot to sell Lesnar as a loose cannon, but a new report from Rajah is claiming the F5 was to set up Kurt’s involvement in the Universal Championship Match at Summerslam.

The plan doesn’t seem to be for the Olympic Gold Medalist to wrestle at Summerslam or even be a guest referee. That could be the case, but the most likely scenario is for Angle to influence the title match by restarting the match if Brock cheats, gets himself counted out. As the storyline between Kurt and Stephanie McMahon develops, it’s unclear if that would be considered an abuse of power or just a way to get Kurt involved in the match.
The Beast Incarnate’s attack on Angle and Heyman was very unpredictable:
The WWE Universe is a little disappointed that Kurt Angle won’t be getting into the ring for a singles match, but it seems WWE officials are holding off for the right scenario. On Raw, Lesnar’s F5 to Angle added even more heat onto Brock. WWE’s goal right now is to ensure Roman Reigns is cheered by the fans in Brooklyn and everyone is helping out.
