Tonight was meant to be a very exciting night for WWE. However, it’s quickly turned into a potential disaster that could end up shutting down WWE’s “Cruiserweight Classic” series before it ever gets started.
According to a report from DailyWrestlingNews.com, tonight was supposed to be the first set of tapings for the series at Full Sail University, but they have been delayed, and the tapings got off to a late start.
Apparently, the tapings were ready to begin at 6:30 pm, but the arena was still half full, and WWE crew members were seen tarping off major sections. It has been referred to as a “debacle” and a “mess” more than once.
What’s curious is the event was sold out. There is a lot of speculation that the low attendance was due to scalpers buying the tickets for the taping, and NXT is also running and event tonight.
However, WWE officials brought the fans to the front in a panic to fill the front rows and claimed that an accident on I-4 and traffic was the cause of the attendance issues.
