As the entire world saw at UFC 203, CM Punk didn’t transition well to The Octagon on his first time. It’s not like that wasn’t a mountain to climb, but it doesn’t seem like he’ll be given the opportunity to fight in UFC again after his performance in the last fight.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that Punk’s MMA career is over. It just means he’s going to have to fight elsewhere in the industry, which is lucky because he has some friends that are willing to give him a shot.

Recently, it was reported that Alberto Del Rio had become the president of an MMA promotion called “Combate Americas.” During an interview with The Roman Show, Punk’s name came up, and Del Rio is interested in having him fight with the promotion.

You can watch the full interview right here. Below is what Alberto Del Rio said about Punk and if he would want him to fight in Combate Americans:

“I would love to have him in Combate Americas; he’s actually one of my best friends in the business. We spoke before and after his fight. I know he’s getting a lot of hate and criticism for what he did in his first fight but we need to give him some credit.”
