The former WWE Tough Enough contestant and WWE developmental talent Ivelisse Velez recently had some negative words to say about WWE and the way WWE’s female wrestlers perform.

Ivelisse has found great success in Lucha Underground as “The Baddest Bitch in the Building.” She posted the following Instagram photo yesterday:

Holy crap . Came across this pic. First set of pics when I arrived. Trying to please #WWE with their "Diva" bullshit standards so I could get my paycheck.. they certainly did NOT appreciate my Anti Diva mentality.... Go watch Women Wrestlers/#Luchadoras @luchaunderground !! #luchaunderground #FCW #NXT #womenswrestling #lucha

Ivelisse was an original cast member of the 2011 edition of Tough Enough. Soon after the show ended, she was signed to a developmental contract. However, she was apparently not what WWE was looking for, and that lead to her having a sour experience trying to become a WWE Diva.

Her words of “‘Diva’ bullshit standards” and being an “Anti-Diva” still reign true for a lot of female performers and a lot of WWE fans even today. Ivellise didn’t disclose many details, but her mentality would be much more likely to make her a WWE success today.

Ultimately, she’s a great performer and character for Lucha Underground, and it worked out for everyone. Hopefully, both sides can work together again in the future if the opportunity comes up.
