In a piece of news that ESPN would be happy to have, New England Patriots football superstar Rob Gronkowski is potentially getting involved with WWE and Tapout.

Gronkowski has been in attendance at NXT or WWE events several times over the last few years. In the past, Gronk has gotten a lot of comparisons with NXT’s Mojo Rawley. Yesterday, Gronkowski was in attendance at WWE’s live event in Providence, Rhode Island.

According to PWInsider.com, Gronk is strongly considering purchasing Tapout/WWE gym in the Buffalo, NY area. That’s an investment that would most likely push him from being in attendance to being featured in the ring for a New England crowd.

Outside of New England, he’s an NFL superstar and the best Tight End in the game of football. He’d be an ideal candidate to cross over into the squared circle. He’s a big physical presence and although it’s unlikely for him to have a match similar to what Arrow’s Stephen Amell did at “Summerslam” this year.

On Tuesday, Lana posted the following to Gronkowski:

Either way, Rob Gronkowski purchasing that gym in Buffalo and giving WWE an association with him would be enough for WWE to get the Tapout brand on the right track and another big face for the brand.
