9. King Barrett
King Barrett is in a unique position. He’s got the look, quality in-ring talent, and mic skills. Most importantly, he’s now entitled with a moniker that few possess: the King of the King. Unfortunately, Barrett hasn’t been booked as a reigning king, and the character hasn’t evolved to become a top talent.
The King of the Ring is typically a heel gimmick, but that’s been a mistake. A king doesn’t always need to be ruthless and a tyrant to gain heel heat. A king can also serve the people, ensure that there is justice in WWE, and be the symbol of good within WWE. That’s a great role for Barrett, and could be the run he needs to not only finally take his place on top of the WWE mountain, but to become the face of the company.
