That’s something to brag about. WWE is the biggest and most powerful wrestling promotion in the world and has been for a very long time now. While the company has been centered in the United States for their entire history, it also has a long run of success outside of the company. Now they are having another success from another part of the world on its biggest nights of the year.
According to India.com, WrestleMania 38 set a new record for wrestling viewership on the Sony Sports Network. The show was viewed by 56.1 million viewers over the show’s two nights. The debut of Veer Mahaan on Monday Night Raw the following night was credited with a 9% increase in the show’s viewership. WrestleMania 38 took place on April 2 and April 3 at AT&T Stadium.
Opinion: I’d certainly call that a success, as tens of millions of people watched WWE’s show. I’m not sure what that compares to other wrestling shows in India but it is certainly a good looking number for WWE. It also shows why Mahaan is going to be around that much longer, as he already has a following from his baseball career, and now it is going to get even stronger with his wrestling work.
