Yes Seriously. United States Congresswoman Praises Cody After Double Or Nothing.

Now that’s some attention. Double Or Nothing has completely taken over the wrestling world, at least for the time being, and they’re showing no signs of slowing down at the moment. A big part of the company’s appeal is to bring back some of the lapsed wrestling fans who have left WWE. However, AEW got some attention from a rather surprising person: a member of the United States Congress.

New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez commented on a video that Cody posted to Twitter after Double Or Nothing. In the video, Cody answers a question about diversity in AEW by talking about being in an interracial marriage. He talked about how he was trying to learn what it was like to see things from a different perspective, which helped shape AEW. Ocasio-Cortez commented on the video, praising Cody for his statements on race relations.

Opinion: There is something to be said about having a variety of wrestlers in a promotion and that’s a good thing to be proud of. Cody’s statement was a fine way of putting things and getting someone to praise what he said, especially unprovoked, is a nice bonus for AEW. Ocasio-Cortez is someone who gets a lot of attention and if that helps AEW grow, so be it.
