It’s a different way to go. The big story in WWE at the moment is the return of fans to live events. This has allowed WWE to start moving things back to normal, which includes getting ready for some of their bigger shows of the year. One of those shows is Summerslam, which will be doing things a little bit differently this time. Now we know more about why.
Earlier this week, WWE announced that this year’s Summerslam will air on Saturday, August 21, marking the first time the show has ever aired on a Saturday. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE made the move because the desired venue for the show, Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, wanted the show on a Saturday. However, WWE made the announcement without mentioning a location. The biggest problem with the show being held in Las Vegas is a Manny Pacquiao boxing match being held in Las Vegas on the same night. Summerslam’s location will be announced on June 5.
Summerslam has a great history of its own. Check out some of its awesome moments:
Opinion: That does make some sense, though I’m curious to see where the show takes place. I just can’t imagine WWE holding the show in the same location as a major boxing match and it isn’t like other stadiums will be unavailable. If nothing else, I definitely prefer the show being held on a Saturday, if nothing else for the sake of freshening things up just a little bit.
