That’s where we’re going. Two weeks ago, Roman Reigns joined forces with Paul Heyman to become WWE’s new big bad. That is the kind of pairing that you can almost never imagine really happening but here it was right in front of us. Two days later Reigns became the new Universal Champion and it seems like it could be a long time before he loses the title. Now we might have a few more details about how that is going to happen.

Reigns won the title by taking it away from the Fiend, who had only held it for a week. The loss ended Fiend’s second reign with the title, which was quite the surprise after how long it had been since he held it in the first place. Fiend seems to be someone WWE is heavily invested in though and the Reigns vs. Fiend feud has seemed to be on the books for a long time now. It’s not over with yet by a long shot.

According to Tom Colohue on the Dropkick DiSKussion podcast, WWE would like to wait on the Fiend vs. Reigns match for the Universal Title, though it is not clear when the match will be taking place. The match could take place as soon as October 25 or all the way until the Royal Rumble in January. WWE is also considering a one time match instead of a long series between the two, though it is not clear when the match will take place.

They’ve been there before. Check out how Reigns vs. Fiend might look:

Opinion: This could be rather interesting, but it is going to be one of the stranger dynamics that we have seen in a long time. I could go for the idea of Reigns being the monster who changes all the rules to suit himself, only to have everything turned upside down by the Fiend. WWE needs to play this right, but it could just be out there enough to have the whole thing work out.

What do you expect from the match? When should it take place? Let us know in the comments below.
