It’s spring cleaning. Almost every year, the post Wrestlemania season sees a series of wrestlers and WWE employees released, normally for the sake of saving some more or just cutting some fat. We’ve reached that point again this year and as is often the case, a lot of the names have come from NXT.

According to Uproxx.com, WWE has released a handful of names from their contracts. The biggest name on this list is “Tough Enough” winner Josh Bredl, who won the show’s sixth season in 2015 and only wrestled a few house show matches for NXT. Other than Bredl, low level wrestler Chris Atkins and backstage interview Andrea DiMarco were released as well.

Opinion: We go through this every year and every year I have almost the same reaction: if they weren’t going anywhere or showing any real improvement, there’s not much of a reason to keep them around. Bredl wasn’t a big surprise either as “Tough Enough” has had nine winners and one (John Morrison) has had any significant success in WWE. These aren’t big surprises but many more could be following.

The competitors sink or swim in newest challenge: WWE Tough Enough, June 30, 2015

Did you see potential in Bredl? Who else do you think will be released? Let us know in the comments below.
