That’s very different. As you have probably been able to tell, the WWE has been undergoing quite the shakeup in recent memory. A lot of this has been due to the arrival of new company President Nick Khan, who has negotiated a series of lucrative deals for the company. These things have been rather successful so far and that is going to get Khan more good will. It turns out that he is going to be getting quite a few more responsibilities.
According to PWInsider.com, Khan is being given even more authority and goals in the company. The idea is to move WWE into more of a mainstream property in the same vein as Marvel or DC Comics. This could include various crossover appeal with wrestlers and characters. There is no word on how this will go or how Khan plans to make these transitions work.
Khan was formerly with Creative Artists Agency (CAA), one of the biggest and more important talent agencies in the world. As a result, Khan is able to bring in a variety of people he has worked with before, meaning he can have his own handpicked staff to help him accomplish these goals. Khan was hired by WWE in August 2020 and his major accomplishment so far has been the Peacock distribution deal.
Opinion: The more I think about it, the less it would surprise me to see WWE entirely sold to some huge company in the near future. I have no idea what that would mean for WWE, but it is clear that there is serious money to be made by the company. Khan seems to be someone who can be a huge help to WWE, though it remains to be seen where a lot of these things go. Khan has done well so far, but this seems to be just the start of something huge.
How will this go? Will WWE be sold anytime soon?
