Well that didn’t take long. This week saw a surprising story out of WWE as stories began to emerge of WWE returning released wrestlers’ belongings in garbage bags. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon heard about this and took action, firing the person involved. As a result, some people were fired from the company, including some people who had been around for a very long time. This seemed to be part of a big shakeup in the talent relations department, but one of those shakes might have been unshaken.

According to PWInsider.com, WWE has already changed their minds on removing John Cone from his job in the talent relations department. Cone, who also works for WWE as a referee, was removed from his position on Thursday, following the garbage back story breaking. There is nothing to suggest that Cone himself was responsible for what was done. Cone also works as a referee for the company, in addition to being Senior Manager of Talent Relations.

WWE legend Mick Foley had not been happy with the move in the first place and posted about it on Twitter before Cone was rehired.

Opinion: Without knowing how involved Cone was in the garbage bag situation, it does not seem to be the best idea to get rid of a steady hand in the department for a long time. I can imagine that the bag idea was not a secret, but that does not mean Cone ordered it or had any way to stop it. Hopefully things settle down over the whole thing, because WWE needs some of their more established hands in sports like this to make the company move more efficiently. Cone is good at both of his jobs and while it does not seem like he was going to lose his refereeing spot, it is nice to see him getting the more important job back.
