You need a place to go. We are coming up on Summerslam and that means things are going to be looking very different all over again. Thanks to the Coronavirus, nothing is going to be the same as we come up on one of the biggest shows of the year. WWE has not been out of either the Performance Center or Full Sail University in over four months, but that might be changing for Summerslam.
Over the years, one of the themes for Summerslam has been “The Biggest Party Of The Summer”. That’s a pretty simple idea and something that works rather well for the show. It tells you want you need to know about the event and the rest of the build can go from there. Being in the Performance Center doesn’t feel like much of a party, but WWE may have a plan this time.
According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is interested in trying to hold the show somewhere in Atlantic City, New Jersey. There is no word on where the show would take place in the city or if there would be any fans in attendance. The original plan for Summerslam was for the show to be held at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts but the Coronavirus pandemic changed the plans.
WWE has been to Atlantic City before. Check out what they have done there, plus at Summerslam:
Opinion: I’ll believe this when I see it, but it would be nice to have something unique for one of the biggest shows of the year. WrestleMania was rather depressing, though a lot of that had to do with WWE not having much of a chance to do anything about it. They might have a way out of it at the moment, even if the show is in a small venue. Just change things up a bit if possible, if nothing else for the sake of some fresh blood.
What do you think of the plan? Will it work? Let us know in the comments below.
