One more on the list. There are all kinds of things going on in the wrestling world at the moment and one of the biggest changes has been wrestlers moving from one promotion to the other. WWE has been behind quite a bit of this as they released dozens of wrestlers back in April, meaning that they would be able to go to other promotions. Not everyone has been able to do so just yet, but another one has found a new place to go, at least for one night.

As a still relatively new company, AEW has been trying a variety of things out to see what sticks. This includes beefing up their women’s division with an upcoming women’s tag team tournament, including eight teams. AEW has quite the women’s division but they may not be able to fill out that kind of a bracket. Therefore they are going to need to bring in some names and one of them will be a former NXT name.

On the latest edition of his Saturday Night Special series, Chris Jericho announced that former NXT wrestler Taynara Conti will be participating in the upcoming AEW women’s tag team tournament. Jericho announced that Conti will team with Anna Jay to face Nyla Rose and Ariane Andrew. There is no word on when the match will air, though the tournament is scheduled to begin on Monday August 3 on YouTube.

There was a lot here. Check out the broadcast, plus Conti in the ring:

Opinion: This is something that works out well, as there are only going to be so many women on the AEW roster to fill in the brackets. So far we already have Conti and Andrew, both of whom are going to be known for their time in WWE without overshadowing everyone else from AEW. This could make for something interesting, though it is going to depend on how the women are presented.

What are you expecting from Conti? Who else should be added to the tournament? Let us know in the comments below.
