On “Smackdown Live”, AJ Styles said Owens was “Ron Burgundy’s definition of San Diego”. While the joke went over Owens’ head at the time, he appeared later in the night on “Talking Smack” and said he knew the joke. Host Daniel Bryan asked what it meant and Owens told him, only to have the audio censored. However, the censors didn’t quite get it right and only the word “whale” was censored, leaving “vagina” completely audible, sending Bryan and Renee Young into hysterics.

Will AJ Styles get to challenge Kevin Owens for the US Title?: SmackDown LIVE, June 27, 2017
Opinion: I didn’t care for “Anchorman” (I’ll be over here for the pitchforks and torches) so this went over my head, but sweet goodness they botched the heck out of that censoring. Then again, I’m not sure why WWE felt the need to censor it in the first place. It’s not swearing and it’s not something vulgar. Then again, I’m sure WWE was worried that someone would be offended by it and that’s just terrifying for them.
