That’s a little money. Last night’s “Smackdown Live” took a gamble by airing a rematch of the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match from just nine days earlier. This was the first ever Money in the Bank match to air on free TV and the question was how well would the match draw.

Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match: SmackDown LIVE, June 27, 2017

As it turns out, fairly well. According to Showbuzz Daily, last night’s episode of “Smackdown Live” drew an audience of 2.603 million viewers, up from last week’s 2.597 million viewers. In addition to the Money in the Bank match, Lana vs. Naomi for the Women’s Title and the Hype Bros vs. the Usos were also announced in advance.

Opinion: While I’m sure WWE was hoping for a bigger number than that, it’s certainly better than it could have been otherwise. The ladder match did indeed draw, though having the match air just nine days earlier probably hurt its drawing power quite a bit. At least it took place and did help the numbers though, which was the whole point.
