That would suit him. WWE presents several major events over the course of the year but some of them do not have something that makes them stand out. While there are several that are able to stand out thanks to having a special attraction, normally in the form of a match. This time though WWE may be trying something else to draw attention to a show and it could work out.

According to WrestleVotes, there have been “rumblings” that John Cena will be the special guest host of this weekend’s WWE Payback event. Cena has been announced to return this week on SmackDown and then for seven more upcoming SmackDown. There is nothing to suggest that Cena would be wrestling on Payback. The show is scheduled to take place on September 2 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Hearing rumblings that Payback will have a special guest host this Saturday night. And his name is John Cena.

Opinion: This is something that could be a good way to go for Payback, which is one of the lower level shows that WWE presents in any given year. The show does not have anything that stands out above the rest and it would make sense to bring Cena in, especially to start off whatever he is going to be doing over the next few months. If nothing else, Cena is going to have his charisma on display and that is never a bad idea.
