Like music to his face. Elias has been one of the most interesting wrestlers on the WWE roster in recent months. He’s gone from little more than a gimmick performer to one of the most over heels in the promotion. The singing and guitar playing is one of the best gimmicks that WWE has put together in a while. The fans are reacting to him more and more every single week and that has been noticed in a big way.
This week on Monday Night Raw, Elias officially turned face by attacking Monday Night Raw General Manager Baron Corbin. The attack was the result of Corbin being the latest person to cut off Elias’ song and sending him to the back. Elias came back out a few seconds later and blasted Corbin with the guitar. This will be the first time that Elias has been a good guy since joining the company.
It was quite the reaction.
Opinion: I’m cautiously optimistic here as Elias has gotten this far as a full on heel. His character is built on insulting people and it’s not clear how well that’s going to work as a face. Hopefully the fans give him a chance, but more importantly, hopefully WWE doesn’t change everything that made him work in the first place. That’s been the case before and the results have almost never been positive.
Do you think the turn will work? How far can Elias go? Let us know in the comments below.
