Watch: Roman Reigns Receives Emotional Backstage Reaction Following Leukemia Announcement

In what was an absolutely heartbreaking way to open Raw this week, Roman Reigns had to share the unfortunate news that the leukemia that he thought was in remission has returned. As a result, he relinquished the Universal Championship and will be leaving WWE for a while to focus on his health.

After sharing this awful news, he was met backstage by several WWE superstars who offered a very strong show of emotion. You can see that video below:

Reigns was scheduled to defend his title against both Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar upcoming at Crown Jewel.

Family. That’s what I think of when I see this video. When we think of WWE superstars, often times we think of larger-than-life personalities who live in an alternate reality. However, seeing videos like this reminds us that these men and women are people too and real life can bite them in the ass sometimes. However, I have no doubts that Roman Reigns is going to beat this disease and will be back stronger than ever!
