That’s a surprise. Wrestling has been changing a lot in the last year and a half. Between AEW both being invented and debuting and WWE undergoing some serious changes of its own, it is rare to see things go even a few days without some kind of change taking place. At the same time though, smaller companies such as Major League Wrestling have been doing well. The company has built up a nice history over the last year and a half, though they might be in for a loss that could hurt them quite a bit.

On Wednesday, Major League Wrestling owner Court Bauer posted a message on Twitter saying thanking Tom Lawlor for his time with Major League Wrestling. Bauer said that he wished Lawlor continued success with the second half of his career after being a great help for the first two years of service to the company. Bauer does not specifically say that Lawlor is leaving the company, though it would seem to be the case. Lawlor has not commented on Bauer’s tweet.

Lawlor was a big deal. Check out him getting ready for one of his bigger matches:

Lawlor has been with Major League Wrestling since its full relaunch in 2018. He was the third World Champion for the company, defeating Low Ki to win the title. Lawlor went on defend the title against Contra Unit’s Jacob Fatu in a lowing effort. His final match with the company came at the first Major League Wrestling pay per view, Saturday Night SuperFight, earlier this month when he defeated Timothy Thatcher. There is no word on where Lawlor would go next.

Opinion: That’s a hit for Major League Wrestling and I’m not sure how much damage it is going to do. Lawlor is an established star in the company and someone they could put out there with anyone for a good match. Above all else though he felt like a homegrown star for the company and someone that had not been everywhere else. He did leave after wrapping up his latest feud, but it is going to be quite the notable loss for Major League Wrestling going forward.
