WWE has released a trailer for a new documentary series called “WWE: Next Gen.” The series, previously titled “WWE: Recruits”, will follow eight hopeful WWE stars as they attempt to make it to WWE. John Cena will serve as narrator and executive producer for the eight part series, which will air exclusively on the Roku Channel beginning on April 1. Other WWE names involved will include Triple H and Shawn Michaels, among others.
This could be good. Check out the trailer, plus a similar WWE series:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that WWE has tried to do for a long time now and here we are again, albeit in a slightly different setting. I’m curious to see what they are going to do with the series and what is going to happen with the winner, as there is a big difference between putting someone on the main roster and NXT, which is where the winner will likely wind up. That takes a lot of the pressure off and we could be in for a better result.
