Watch: Johnny Gargano Returns to NXT

It’s always nice to see a familiar face. One of the best angles and moments of the year took place at “Takeover: Chicago” with DIY splitting up as Tommaso Ciampa took out his friend and partner Johnny Gargano after their loss. That was the last time we had seen Gargano but that changed tonight.

Gargano returned to “NXT” this week and cut a short but passionate promo about how he needed to get back to the one thing that he loved more than anything else: wrestling. Gargano also spoke about needing to be on the upcoming “Takeover: Brooklyn” card in any capacity he could. Here’s a video of the speech:

Opinion: If they play their cards right, NXT has one of the best grudge matches imaginable when Ciampa gets back from his injury. Unfortunately that’s a long way off, which means they have to nail everything with Gargano until then. This promo was a good place to start and having him win a solid match in Brooklyn would be another solid step.
