Welcome home. One of the biggest surprises of the summer was Mauro Ranallo returning to WWE as part of the NXT commentary team. After leaving the company under some unfortunate circumstances earlier in the year, Ranallo returned at the most recent “NXT” tapings and seems to be with the company going forward. Now we have a better idea of why he’s back and why he left in the first place.

Triple H announces Mauro Ranallo's return to #NXT at Full Sail Live

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by way of Wrestlinginc.com, Ranallo didn’t leave WWE due to his issues with John Bradshaw Layfield, whose anti-Ranallo comments on “Bring it to the Table” weren’t his own idea, meaning there were deeper issues. The new deal requires Ranallo to work several fewer dates for the company (18-20 instead of 75-80), which will include TV tapings and Takeovers. Ranallo is also allowed to work outside WWE for Showtime Boxing and Bellator MMA. The new deal lasts for two years.

Opinion: I’m just glad Ranallo is back, no matter what the circumstances. Maybe these will make things a bit easier on him and allows him to not have to deal with as much stress. Ranallo is incredibly talented behind the microphone and he’s already made “NXT” feel like a bigger deal again. At least he’s back and it seems to be on good terms.

Are you glad Ranallo is back? Can you imagine him working on a main roster show again? Let us know in the comments below.
