They’re not done yet. Sunday night, NXT presented its latest Takeover special with Takeover: Vengeance Day. The show was a stacked card with three title matches and two tournament finals, making for a heck of a night. With so much going on, the question was what was going to be the biggest part of the card. That would come at the end of the night, and now NXT has even more to see.

The main event of Takeover: Vengeance Day saw NXT Champion Finn Balor successfully defending the title against Pete Dunne. The match was a hard hitting, back and forth fight with Balor surviving rather than defeating Dunne. The win was one of the most hard fought of Balor’s reign as champion, but it turns out that his night was not done yet. After the match, the Undisputed Era saved Balor from a post match beatdown, only to have Adam Cole turn on the rest of the team. The night was not done yet.

There’s more to it. Check out what happened after Takeover:

Unseen footage of Bálor and O’Reilly’s NXT TakeOver encounter: WWE Network Exclusive, Feb. 14, 2021

WWE has released a video from after Takeover went off the air, showing Balor yelling at Kyle O’Reilly, who had said Balor could trust the Undisputed Era. O’Reilly denied knowing what happened, including asking Cole what he was doing during the show. Balor then left the ring angrily, followed by O’Reilly leaving looking confused. There was no physical contact between the two.

Opinion: This might not have been much of a game changer, but it did showcase a few things. First of all, as expected, Balor is angry about what happened. It’s hard to blame him either, as he did not trust O’Reilly in the first place and then got his face kicked in. It also shows that O’Reilly does not seem to know what Cole what going to do, which adds more than a few wrinkles to the story. I’m curious about where it is going to go and that is a good thing.
