She might be next. Women’s wrestling in WWE has come a very long way in the last several years and that has been a very good thing. Women have now main evented the Royal Rumble, Survivor Series and even WrestleMania, which would have been nearly impossible to believe even ten years ago. New stars will have to move up though and we might have seen someone taking a step in that direction this week.
This week’s Monday Night Raw opened with Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch successfully defending her title against Bianca Belair while using a handful of tights. Later in the show, Lynch bragged about her win and said she needed someone new to give her a challenge. Liv Morgan appeared and stared Lynch down, suggesting that she would be the next challenger for the title. No match has been announced as of yet.
This could be interesting. Check out the showdown, plus both women in action:
Opinion: This is one of those ideas that might not make the most sense if you think about it very much. Morgan hasn’t won a match in over a month and her losses have been in quick fashion. It’s a little hard to get behind the idea of her as a challenger based on her win/loss record, but she has been one of the more popular names in WWE in recent months, so it would make sense to give her a chance. Sometimes that is the best you have, and it isn’t like Lynch asked for the most worthy challenger.
What do you think of the match? Should Morgan get a shot? Let us know in the comments below.
