That isn’t like him. There is no one in the wrestling world like Vince McMahon. He is the most powerful person in the wrestling world today and that has been the case for a very long time now. McMahon has run the biggest wrestling company in the industry for a very long time now and there is nothing to suggest that he will stop until he is gone. That doesn’t mean he is going to go at full speed forever though, and that might have been on display this week.
McMahon’s influence over WWE television is as strong today as it ever has been, if not the strongest ever. There is almost nothing that takes place on WWE television without McMahon’s approval, which may or may not be the best situation. McMahon has a reputation for changing the shows at the last minute, which was made even more complicated this week.
According to Fightful Select, McMahon was “significantly” late to this week’s Monday Night Raw. When he arrived, he made a number of changes to the show, including removing the previously announced Braun Strowman vs. Randy Orton match. The only features advertised for the show included Drew McIntyre wanting answers from Mace and T-Bar and Charlotte vs. Asuka. It is not clear why McMahon was late and there is no reason to believe that anything is wrong.
The show wound up being ok. Check out how things went:
Opinion: I can’t say I’m surprised at this as the changes can be rather annoying at times, though they also tend to keep happening. There are so many things that keeps happening to make the show feel slapped together and that is the case all over again. Hopefully things starts getting put together a bit better, but I have no reason to believe that it is going to changed.
