They do love the mainstream exposure. WWE is on the Road to WrestleMania 37 and that means we are going to be seeing things step up in a big way. With so many extra eyes on WWE at the moment, the company is going to be pulling out all the stops to make things all the more interesting. That was the case this weekend on one of the longest running entertainment shows in American history.
Celebrities have long since been a big part of WWE history and WrestleMania is no exception. The first show was built around the idea of a celebrity getting in the ring for the main event as Mr. T. joined Hulk Hogan to defeat Paul Orndorff and Roddy Piper. They have not let up since, and this year will likely be no different. One of the bigger celebrity names working in WWE was helping them get some publicity this weekend.
This might get some attention. Check out a WWE Champion on Saturday Night Live:
WWE 24/7 Champion Bad Bunny was the musical guest on this week’s edition of Saturday Night Live, performing Te Deseo Lo Mejor. Bunny was carrying the 24/7 Title with him and holds it in his hand throughout the performance. No other WWE stars appeared on the show or attempted to take the title from him. Bunny won the title on this week’s Monday Night Raw and is expected to likely wrestle a match at WrestleMania 37.
Opinion: I know it might not mean much, but having someone being on a show of such high magnitude while being willing to positively represent WWE is a great thing. Bunny is known to be such a huge wrestling fan and it is nice to see him willing to do something like this for the company. If he helps bring in some eyes to the company then that’s awesome, and it’s not like taking the 24/7 Title is stealing some important spotlight.
