They do mean all the time. The WWE 24/7 Title has been a bit of a breath of fresh air to the company over its few months of existence. The title is nothing more than comedy relief but it has worked rather well so far. R-Truth has been the star of the division and has defended and won the title in some rather unique places. Occasionally it has even been in the ring, which is where something took place on Monday.
WWE has released a new video to its YouTube page showing Boston Celtics player Enes Kanter winning the 24/7 Title from R-Truth before Monday Night Raw went on the air. R-Truth won the title back seconds later, becoming a fifteen time champion in the process. Kanter has trained in wrestling before and has mentioned a potential wrestling career when he retired from the NBA.
There were shenanigans in the Garden. Check out the two title changes, plus Kanter’s post reign remarks:
Opinion: This is the kind of thing that isn’t going to hurt the title whatsoever and plays into the fun of the whole thing. That being said, it isn’t going to mean much if the title reigns keep lasting thirty seconds, as it was clear nothing was going to last here. It was fine for a moment, but at some point we need something different than R-Truth and Drake Maverick trading the title a dozen times.
