Welcome home. How many wrestlers’ hometowns can you name off the top of your head? Miami, Florida, Venice Beach, California, Victoria, Texas and I could go on and on. Wrestlers have some pretty distinct hometowns and every now and then, they have homecomings. That can be just an appearance or a major match, but they’re often some of the coolest things around.
Dig those pops man.
WWE has posted a new video looking at the Top Ten Happiest Superstar Homecomings. This is a collection of moments when wrestlers come back to their hometown for a major match and in most of these cases, win their matches. The list goes back a long time with one entry being over twenty five years old. In every case, the fans seem very pleased to see their hometown hero.
There was a big homecoming last week. Check out our full Monday Night Raw results to see who it was.
Opinion: Yes believe it or not, there was a time when WWE didn’t feel the need to humiliate or defeat people in their hometown. I’ve never quite gotten that mentality and there’s little need to ruin the happiness that fans see when their hometown star comes out. Why take away a reaction that you’re guaranteed to receive and ruin the potential for a bigger reaction the next time you’re in town?
Which of these was your favorite? What did WWE leave off the list? Let us know in the comments below
