Some opinions may vary. Yesterday, WWE announced the return of the Mixed Match Challenge later this month. The tournament, which was first held earlier this year, will see men and women teaming together in mixed tag team matches over a fourteen week period. One of the more entertaining aspects of the show was the chemistry between some of the partners, which is what WWE wanted to look at next.
I’m getting excited over this one.
WWE has posted a new video of some of the Mixed Match Challenge competitors’ initial reactions to finding out who their partners may be. Most of the partners are rather pleased and there is one team that is back from the first season. The most interesting one may be Bayley and Finn Balor, who had a long history down in NXT, at least on the house show circuit. That history is more than worth looking at again.
First she cheers him up:
Then he’s way too good at this:
And the best of them all: may I have this dance?
Opinion: The one thing that I’m looking forward to on this show is the lighthearted fun. It’s not like this is going to mean anything going forward but the shows are going to be entertaining with the wrestlers getting to show off some more creativity instead of doing the same stuff every single week. Let them have some fun and do stuff that is entertaining instead of all serious all the time. It can work, like this likely will.
