Video: Shelton Benjamin on Finding a Loaded Gun in His Rental Car

That could have been a lot worse. Earlier this week, Shelton Benjamin said that he found a loaded gun in the glove compartment of his rental car. Thankfully nothing came of it as Benjamin found the gun and wasn’t in any form of trouble for it. The gun didn’t go off and police took it away with Benjamin not being charged with anything. We now have some more details.

In a new video posted by TMZ Sports, Benjamin talks about the whole ordeal, saying that he found the gun in the car and immediately called the police, saying there was no way this could end well otherwise. Benjamin says the police didn’t think much of it and took the gun away with no issue. He also has a message for Budget Rent-a-Car, which you can see in the video:

Opinion: Benjamin is lucky this didn’t turn out to be something terrible, which could have very easily been the case. At least it was wrapped up in short order and seems to be something that happens more often than you might expect. Hopefully his in-ring career has the same luck going forward.
