With a twist. Bray Wyatt is one of the most interesting characters in all of WWE, with the Fiend taking him to an entirely different level. The dominance of the new persona does cause a bit of a problem though as there is only so much that can be done to hurt him. The Fiend has already survived a record number of Stomps from Seth Rollins and popped up to his feet, so something different has to be done. Someone fresh has to be given a shot and that was the case on Monday.
Wyatt was in action after last night’s Monday Night Raw went off the air, successfully defending the Universal Title in a steel cage match against Drew McIntyre, despite Wyatt being a member of the SmackDown roster. This has been the case almost every week after Monday Night Raw, with Wyatt being the featured dark match participant. McIntyre was in action on Monday Night Raw against Kevin Owens in a match that ended in a no contest when Triple H came to the ring.
It was another red light special. Check out the beginning and ending to the match:
Opinion: Odds are this is just a one off match between the two but I’m rather pleased with McIntyre getting at least a token main event appearance like this. I’ve been a big fan of his for a long time and could see him being a star for the company for a long time to come. That being said, he isn’t getting any younger and he continues to toil in the midcard for reasons that aren’t entirely clear. Hopefully things continue in this direction, but my hopes aren’t up.
Will McIntyre get a push towards the main event? Who will take the title from Wyatt? Let us know in the comments below.
