It was a big night. The wrestling world has changed in a big way at the moment and it is not clear when things are going to get back to normal. The two major companies are still going though and that is one of the best things that can happen for them. However, their shows are being run in empty arenas, which makes for some interesting moments. One such moment took place on Wednesday.
AEW has brought in a lot of names, with some of them being former WWE talent. That doesn’t mean that if you were once in WWE you are guaranteed a job though and that’s a very smart move. At the end of the day, what matters most is having the right wrestlers in the right roles, and AEW might have found a very good choice for their newest acquisition this week.
At the end of this week’s Dynamite, Matt Hardy, in his Broken attire, made his AEW debut. Hardy was revealed as the final member of the Elite for Blood & Guts, which will take place on the next episode of Dynamite. Hardy appeared after the Inner Circle won the six man main event, earning the advantage in Blood & Guts. Chris Jericho bragged about their advantage but Hardy’s drone Vanguard 1 flew into the arena. Matt Jackson said that he had a friend who owed him a favor and Hardy appeared near the top of the arena.
It was a heck of a moment. Check out Hardy’s debut:
Opinion: I’m liking this idea as it’s a lot better than having Hardy debut as the leader of the Dark Order. This feels like something that would suit Hardy better and it’s one of the best things that could happen to AEW at the moment. They have a lot going on and this could help them build some more momentum. Hardy is an older wrestler but the Broken character is something that could work wonders in AEW.
