RUMOR KILLER: Former WWE Champion Not Making Return

Would anyone notice at the moment? We are in a very strange place at the moment in the wrestling world as things have ground to a halt, though WWE continues to run its television shows. As a result, there is still a good bit of wrestling news going on, meaning wrestlers are still making headlines. One wrestler has done though, but there might not be anything to it.

WWE has had a bunch of wrestlers come and go over the years with some of them making more of an impact than others. Every now and then, you see someone who gets themselves noticed for one reason or another. Occasionally that can be a problem, especially if the wrestler in question seems to be more trouble than they are worth. That seems to be the case this time around, even though there seems to be nothing going on.

According to Fightful Select by way of Ringsidenews.com, there is no truth to Alberto Del Rio saying that he has been in negotiations with WWE about a return. If nothing else, the situation involving Paige would prevent Del Rio from returning to WWE as she is seen as more valuable than he is. It is not currently known if Paige and Del Rio are on speaking terms.

Opinion: I can’t say I disagree with this from WWE’s perspective as Del Rio was not the most interesting star in WWE. He has been successful when it comes to titles and championships, but he is hardly the most thrilling person in the world. I don’t really need to see him back in WWE, and apparently the company agrees with the theory. Why mess with what you have in Paige, when Del Rio is hardly all that big of a star in the first place?
