Can you blame him? Jon Moxley is one of the more interesting names in wrestling. He recently left WWE and was in AEW just a few months later as his contract expired, meaning the no compete clause was not in effect. While some might see it as a jump from one company to the other, Moxley does not quite see it that way and went into the details in a new interview.
Moxley appeared on the latest episode of Talk Is Jericho to discuss leaving WWE and the process that caused him to make the change. In particular, Moxley talked about a day in November when he had to do a backstage segment that saw him getting vaccinated against the fans. Moxley felt that he could not recover from the segment as it was just too far into the bad comedy. He complained to Vince McMahon about it but McMahon felt that it was excellent and would get him great heel heat. After the show was over, Moxley went to the airport and knew that he could not continue to work for WWE.
Looking back, this really is terrible. Check out the segment that was Moxley’s breaking point:
You can listen to the full interview right here (this is fascinating stuff).
Opinion: Can you blame him for wanting out? I mean look at the nonsense that he was being asked to perform and tell me how that is supposed to keep him strong. He’s getting a big injection from a comically large syringe because he’s scared of catching diseases from the fans? Bobby Heenan in the 1980s would have a hard time getting this over and they expected it to work in 2018? This is quite a stretch to put it mildly.
How bad was that segment? How much better will Moxley be in AEW? Let us know in the comments below.
