Ruling Britania? Last January, WWE held a tournament to crown the inaugural WWE United Kingdom Champion. Tyler Bate won the tournament and set off a series of great matches, mainly featuring Pete Dunne. Since then we’ve heard rumors of a UK promotion being started up, but now we might have something more concrete.

You might remember this one.

According to Wrestlinginc.com, WWE has booked dates in the UK to tape television in December. The long term plan is to start a UK promotion and eventually set up a UK based WWE Performance Center. This isn’t the first time that the tapings have been scheduled but each of them have been canceled before taking place. WWE recently renewed the contracts of Bate, Dunne, Mark Andrews, Trent Seven and Wolfgang

Opinion: After more than a year of talking about this over and over, I’m firmly at a point of believing this when I see it. The UK promotion is a good idea but for whatever reason it keeps getting delayed over and over. Maybe this is the time that it gets going, but it’s still nearly nine months in the future.

The UK wrestlers are branching out.
