There’s always time for more. We are coming up on AEW Revolution, which is coming up in less than three days. The company has been on fire as of late, but at the end of the day they are still less than a year removed from their debut event. Therefore, they don’t have much of a track record when it comes to pay per view, meaning that they are still figuring some things out. Therefore, the new additions to Saturday’s card could go either way.
There are a lot of interesting feuds and stories going on in AEW at the moment and several of them are going to get some time at Revolution. That’s how things are supposed to go with a pay per view: set up the matches before the show and then make people want to see them over the coming weeks. That isn’t entirely the case this time though as two matches were added at the last minute.
This week on Dynamite, two matches were added to Saturday’s Revolution card. First up, Orange Cassidy will face Pac in Cassidy’s first singles match in AEW. Cassidy interrupted a Pac interview so Pac forearmed him down, setting up the match. The other match will see the Dark Order face SCU’s Kazarian and Scorpio Sky. This comes after the Dark Order has recruited SCU’s Christopher Daniels to join the team.
There is some talent in these matches. Check out a little of both:
Opinion: There’s nothing wrong with adding in some matches at the last minute and I’ll always take that over the matches being thrown onto the card the day of the show. Hopefully the matches wind up being entertaining as the story for Pac vs. Cassidy is being set up in a rush. The Dark Order vs. SCU seems like a great place to have the Exalted One debut though and that could be interesting, assuming it happens.
