Here he comes again. Earlier this year, Edge made his big surprise return at the Royal Rumble and it was hard to believe what we were seeing. Edge had been retired for nearly nine years with a neck injury but now he was back in the ring and looked like he was heading towards WrestleMania 36. then Randy Orton happened and it was back to the shelf. Now though, we know when we’ll be seeing him again.

The night after the Royal Rumble, Edge was attacked by Orton, who turned on him almost immediately and gave Edge a one man Conchairto. The attack played into Edge’s history of neck injuries and seemed to put him on the shelf for the time being. Edge vs. Orton has been rumored for WrestleMania 36 and now we may be seeing a big preview of the match, or even the setup itself.

The Capital One Arena in Washington DC is advertising Edge’s live return for the March 9 Monday Night Raw to give an update on his medical status. Orton is also advertised for the show in a match against Drew McIntyre, meaning that he will be in the building. There is no word on if the two will interact. Edge and Orton teamed together in 2006-2007 as Rated-RKO, where they won the World Tag Team Titles.

It was a brutal moment. Check out how Orton put Edge on the shelf:

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that WWE needs to do as the March 9 show will be less than a month away from WrestleMania. You have to actually announce the match at some point because otherwise, everything feels rushed. I don’t think it’s exactly a secret that this is where we’re going, but at least they might be getting around to actually setting up the match.
