Double time. It’s Tuesday and that means it’s time for a pair of dark matches at the SmackDown Live taping. These matches are rather important as the matches serve both as the setup as well as the last thing the fans are going to remember that night. If nothing else, the matches serve as a way to get some more people in the ring as well. So what went down this week?
According to Wrestlinginc.com, the usual structure was in place this week as well with a match taking place both before and after the show. Before the show went on the air, Aleister Black defeated Jinder Mahal. Black has yet to make his in-ring debut as a member of the roster though he has cut some promos. After the show was over, Becky Lynch successfully defended the SmackDown Women’s Title against Charlotte. Both appeared on the show in a brawling sequence.
Speaking of the brawling sequence. Check out Charlotte and Lynch getting physical on SmackDown Live:
Opinion: It’s almost strange to not see some lower midcard tag team act in the opening dark match. Black is a good choice to open the show as the entrance is cool and Black Mass is one of the best finishers around today. Lynch getting some revenge in the main event works as well as Lynch is one of the biggest stars in the company and it makes sense to have her get in the ring at some point.
Which of these matches sounds better? How big of a star could Black be? Let us know in the comments below.
