You mean he’s not jumping? Earlier this year at WrestleMania 35, Brock Lesnar lost the Universal Title to Seth Rolling in a match that didn’t even last three minutes. It was one of the most surprising moments of the show, though when news started coming out saying that Lesnar might be heading back to the UFC to fight Daniel Cormier for the Heavyweight Championship, it started to make more sense. Then today happened.

According to ESPN, Lesnar has informed UFC President Dana White that he will not be fighting Cormier and considers himself retired from the UFC. Lesnar, 41, had his last fight in July 2016, originally a win over Mark Hunt which was later changed to a no contest due to a failed drug test. Lesnar retires with a career record of 5-3 with one no contest. There is no word on whether or not he will be coming back to WWE sooner or later.

They even teased the fight. Check out the hype for Lesnar vs. Cormier:

Opinion: This isn’t the most surprising thing in the world, as Lesnar has teased another UFC run for a long time now but always seems to come up with a reason for not doing it just yet. It suggested that Lesnar didn’t want to fight and now he isn’t going to. It could have been a variety of reasons, but now Lesnar is free to come back to WWE whenever he wants to. You know he’ll be back at some point, and there is no reason he shouldn’t.
