She’s worth listening to. The Women’s Revolution has changed the way WWE presents its women’s division in a very positive way. After so many years of women’s wrestling being little more than a sideshow, it has become one of the more prominent features on the show, even to the point of headlining WrestleMania. There are still some legends of women’s wrestling, and now one of them might be in a place where she can show some influence.
When it comes to the list of names names who influenced modern wrestling more than anyone else, there are a few names who keep popping up. One of the most prominent names on the list is Trish Stratus, who was arguably the biggest name in women’s wrestling in the Ruthless Aggression era and who set many of the standards to come with women’s wrestling. Now she might be able to give some of that success back.
Stratus was a guest on the Women’s Wrestling Talk podcast and revealed that she had been in discussions with NXT head coach Matt Bloom over joining the Performance Center staff. However, Stratus said that she was hesitant to work at the Performance Center full time as she would have to sacrifice time with her family, including her children. Stratus did say that she would like to appear occasionally though and contribute to the future in some way.
Opinion: This is something that could be rather valuable as Stratus has a different perspective than several of the modern wrestlers. She came from a time when women’s wrestling was becoming something important for the first time in several years, so it would be great to see her adding her expertise. I can understand not wanting to be around full time due to her family, but anything from Stratus would be be better than nothing.
