They have to firm things up. We are less than two weeks away from Survivor Series and that means things are going to start getting more interesting, or at least they should in theory. A lot of the card has already been set up with a theme of Monday Night Raw vs. SmackDown vs. NXT, which is at least a little bit different than what they have done in the last few years. That means there are a lot of wrestlers and titles floating around the show, so WWE is putting some of them together, including a set of them in a match that has been rumored.
Over the last few weeks, WWE has announced a series of matches with the divisional champions of all three brands being put into triple threat matches against each other. This has included all three Tag Team Champions and Women’s Champions facing off in non-title matches, but that meant there were various other champions left out. The WWE Championship will be on the line as Brock Lesnar faces Rey Mysterio, so what does that mean for the titles that are a little further down the totem pole?
The NXT invasion has already given us this gem. Check out Triple H’s rallying speech:
This week on Monday Night Raw, it was announced that United States Champion AJ Styles, Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong will face off in their own non-title match for brand supremacy. There is still a chance that the match could be changed should any of the three lose their titles before Survivor Series takes place on November 24.
There is some history here. Check out Nakamura and Styles, plus Strong:
Opinion: You had to know this was coming so they can get in a win for every brand in a triple threat match. Or given WWE’s history with this show, they’ll probably have one show sweep all of them so the brand supremacy goes flying out the window. They have a weird tendency to hype up the battle of the brands and then make it mean nothing, but that is how Survivor Series has gone for years. Just give us something entertaining and everything will be fine though.
