And NEW! There are all kinds of stars on the WWE roster and that can make it hard to make any of them stand out. One of the best ways to do so is by winning a championship, which sets you apart from the rest of the roster as you have accomplished something. That can make a title change one of the most important moments for a wrestler, and now we have seen another one.

This week’s SmackDown was scheduled to include Santos Escobar challenging Austin Theory for the United States Title. However, Theory attacked Escobar before the match and injured Escobar’s knee. As a result, Rey Mysterio replaces Escobar and won the title, marking the third time in his career that Mysterio won the title. Mysterio is the first WWE Hall Of Famer to win a singles title after being inducted.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that can make for a special moment, as the title match was not announced but happened anyway, with Mysterio getting the title in a surprise. Theory had held the title for over eight months and was probably due to lose the thing, though it was a bit surprising to see it happen this way. Mysterio as champion can be interesting though and that’s what matters most.
